“LOST” Reviews, Episodes 1 and 2

Posted in LOST on February 19, 2009 by middleofmayhem

Season Five of LOST came after 9 months of being off the air. I had a whole lot of anticipation and when Jan 21’s season premiere came, I was stupid excited.

So, because I know you all want to know, here’s what I think (in recaps):

Episode 1: “Because You Left”
Rating: 6/10
So, the Oceanic 6 left the island. John Locke had told them not to. They left. The Island “moved”. Season 4 showed the Oceanic 6 going kinda nutty over the course of 3 years. Now, John’s dead and Ben tells Jack that they all “have to go back” to the island with John’s dead body. Ok, here we go:

This episode opens on Marvin Candle way back when. Music playing during montage like they’ve done too many times already (Desmond, Juliet, etc). Shit goes down in the Orchid station and some guy gets hurt. They discovered the “frozen donkey wheel”. Marvin goes off on a way-too-convenient diatribe to some random cave worker: “This energy is going to allow us to manipulate time!” Oh, and then Daniel Faraday is there for the WTF opening.

I was filming outside the Federal Reserve…

Posted in Politics on February 18, 2009 by middleofmayhem

On a routine “broll shoot” for a news story, I was just filming wide shots of the Federal Reserve building in Washington DC. I was on the public sidewalk, no tripod, with a medium sized camera. I had filmed the White House, Treasury, Capitol Building, and National Academy of Sciences with no problem. 45 seconds into filming the shoot, Federal Reserve Police approached claiming I was breaking the More.. law. “But this is THE FEDERAL RESERVE, SIR.”

The Stimulus Plan and Why It Won’t Work

The economy is in a recession. And if you’re learning about this for the first time here on this blog, then you’re part of the problem.

Granted, on the surface, Obama’s stimulus plan seems a rather progressive solution. And it’s obviously a better solution than “He We Won’t Speak Of” could have come up with. There is money dedicated to creating new jobs nationwide in renewable energy outlets and obviously the tax breaks/credits will put more money in people’s pockets, and thus back into the economy when they inevitably spend it on HDTVs or PS3s.

My parents are deeeeeaaaaaad!

Because the internet needs another blog.

Posted in Uncategorized on February 13, 2009 by middleofmayhem

Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and YouTube did not provide me all the avenues I needed to inform the world on my musings. It is because of this that I created this new blog. It is one of millions around the world. It is to be updated frequently and with haste. It is to cover politics, flim reviews, and updates from my little life. It is to also serve as a bridge to the new world order. Technical pirates from multiple corporations will scour this blog and learn of my likes and dislikes and use this data to study and market to my demographic. National security ghosts will search my blog for keywords and threats and they will use this data to track me and compile a list. People from my past might find me on this blog and use that opportunity to say “Hi”, but will will be baffled as to what to say beyond that. And I will often pour my fears, sorrow, and hopes into this empty web of apathy. This is the world I live in. This is the middle of mayhem.
